Can you tell us more about yourself?
I’m originally from Liverpool, UK. In the past year I’ve been working in Poland for a payments company as a Business Development Manager. During that time, I fell in love with sales and payments.
Why did you choose to move to Poland as your first job?
I knew the Manager of the Sales Team of the company and about this opening at that time. Therefore, it’s quite an easy introduction and a good opportunity for me as they’re looking for a native English speaker to develop their payment gateway business.
Why did you choose to move to Amsterdam eventually?
I was looking for a new opportunity to further develop my experience in payments and sales and grow a solid international network within that industry across Europe. Also, moving to Amsterdam is always something I want to do. I’m from the UK and it’s not very far away from home so I can always visit my family. At the same time, it’s very close to the rest of Europe so it’s easy to get around to different places.
Why did you choose to work at Payments & Cards Network?
I’m still fairly new to the payments industry and I think working in the recruitment area is a good opportunity to build my network as I need to speak to both clients and candidates so it’s the best of both worlds.
How did your previous experience help with your current job?
I’ve already noticed a lot of transferable skills from sales of a product to people, for example the calls that I’m making. I’m going to be on the phone and speak to a lot of people. It’s very similar to what I’ve been doing and I’m very happy about that.
What’s your interest?
I love travelling! It’s also one of the reasons why I want an international working experience because it’s just a great way to travel the world while working there. I also enjoy staying at home and play video games.
