Product Leader Loyalty

Location: Western Europe > Germany > Berlin
Work Type: Full Time

Our client is a global provider of payment solutions and aims to offer their merchants and consumers the best payment and checkout experience. They are looking to build a new and innovative loyalty solution for their merchants. For this they are looking for a hands-on product manager with an entrepreneurial mindset and experience building UI/UX heavy and/or back-end related products.

Product Management is the heart of our client’s business. It’s where they push ideas that revolutionize how consumers can use their products and services. It’s where they experiment and decide on what to do based on data and statistics. It’s where the business connects directly with their development teams and where the team always trumps the individual. Passion is everything. They have the ambition to do what it takes to make the product and in turn the company successful.

Their approach is based on a dual-track agile development process where they strive for continuous discovery and development of features. They understand that fast failure is success. For this to work you need to work close together with development teams and other product managers. They believe co-location (you sit with the team) is important since speed and communication is key.

From Idea to Product

  • Our client’s Product Managers not only own a product and prioritize backlog. They drive the company’s vision through strategic thinking and do research and discovery of new ideas that can influence millions of consumers and thousands of merchants. Testing hypotheses with data are essential part of the process. They build what they believe in.
  • Their Product Managers are leaders and experts. They are informal leaders that influence how both Product and Developers work. They are also experts in their industry and their domain and can easily zoom out from implementation details to strategy. The leader of the product knows that the only way to make a product successful is to actually launch it with customers.

A successful Product Manager:

  • Is someone you love to work with, whether you are a senior stakeholder or a service agent with diverse backgrounds from both business and technical point of view.
  • Understands the need for good communication flow. It doesn’t happen ad hoc, you have a process for it.
  • Is an expert obsessed with high and low-level details. You are obsessed with quality and details when it matters, and there are no compromises in quality, if it has an impact on the customer experience.
  • Is technically well-versed and is used to work with an agile development team.
  • Learns from mistakes and has no problem admitting to them.
  • Uses data to make decisions
  • Gets things done.

Furthermore, you have multiple years of product management experience, building and delivering products. Your deep technical understanding is a foundation to build upon. At the same time you are as good as a sales person in pitching your product to customers and stakeholders. And you know how to discuss strategy with senior leadership.
