Our client is a globally operating financial technology company serving merchants, challenger banks and other financial institutions with a range of products and services. Due to the size of their UK operation and the ambitious growth plans they have, they are looking for a Country Manager UK to head up their operations and strategy for the UK and Ireland, as well as a team of over 200 people.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and develop our client's business in respective country
  • Serve on our client's subsidiaries’ board(s) and act as their legal representative in the defined country
  • General and day-to-day management in the respective country
  • Implement and grow a diverse and high performing local team in collaboration with the respective leaders in the sales and product divisions
  • Solve conflicts among the divisions and secure a united feeling and appearance in the country
  • Grow our client’s footprint in the respective market through business development activities and win lighthouse customers and partners
  • Develop and execute goto market strategy for the country in alignment with Group Strategy, sales and product divisions
  • Manage local budgets and ensure country profitability
  • Create processes and structure in alignment with our client's global policies
  • Initiate and drive M&A opportunities



  • Deep and multi-year executive experience in General Manager / Country Manager positions in a global enterprise
  • High level of assertiveness combined with excellent people management skills
  • Broad range of general management skills
  • Ability to develop an effective high performing team
  • Strong personality, excellent communicator and team player
  • Able to work in a matrix structure and drive results without dedicated line responsibility
  • High agility with excellent decision quality in a fast growing and quickly changing environment, driver with ‘can-do‘ attitude and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent network to regulators and card/local payment schemes is highly preferred, as well experience with retail & consumer goods, travel & mobility, digital, telco or financial services
  • Experience with process management and managing a technical infrastructure
  • University degree
  • Intercultural savvy
