servicing platform and unique loan origination tools to deliver a differentiated

level of service to its multiple stakeholders, including bank partners, merchant

and retailer channel partners, consumers and borrowers. Leveraging proprietary

mobile technology, the Company is currently experiencing exceptional growth in

both accounts and profitability.


Job Duties: The Vice President of Merchant Risk Strategy & Analytics is responsible for

protecting the organization, along with its customers, merchants, and bank

partners from merchant risk exposure.


This VP Merchant Analytics is responsible for analyzing, designing and managing merchant risk mitigation strategies and policies including merchant underwriting and portfolio management.


The VP Merchant Analytics works closely with the operations teams to execute

merchant risk policies and develop processes and tools to support merchant risk

tactics. The VP Merchant Analytics collaborates across functions such as Sales,

Operations, Product and Technology.



Merchant Risk Management – The VP Merchant Analytics is responsible

for designing and evolving a risk framework to effectively manage

merchant risk, including advancing the merchant risk function by

streamlining and scaling risk assessment and monitoring. This is

achieved through a combination of automated models and manual

reviews to predict and monitor merchant performance.


Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills – Analyze and synthesize multiple

data points in order to assess merchant profitability and mitigate

emerging concerning trends in a timely manner. Demonstrated ability

to work independently and make complex investigation decisions with

little to no guidance.


Team – The VP Merchant Analytics is responsible for building and

inspiring a world class risk management team. This individual is

responsible for recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent to make

his/her vision a reality.


Motivation & Goal Setting- The VP Merchant Analytics is responsible for

driving results and achieving portfolio loss objectives as established by

the Company.

Action Orientation– Attention to detail, excellent follow through and

leveraging both data and risk management experience and intuition to

develop a well-informed view sufficient to confidently shut down a

merchant is the bell-weather of a successful Risk Management leader.



The VP Merchant Analytics must have proven prior experience in

developing and managing quantitative risk policy and portfolio

management to ensure long-term protection of stakeholder assets.


Demonstrated track record of leveraging data and tools to assess

business risk such as financial statement analysis, business bureaus,

predictive models, etc.


Designing risk management framework and architecture including, but

not limited to: driving data and capabilities initiatives to achieve

tactical and strategic objectives of assessing and monitoring merchant



Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills that are used to develop

strategy, monitor performance, and report results with an ability to

communicate complex risk management issues clearly to members of

senior management.


Action oriented. While we seek an outstanding leader, we desire a

candidate that can also roll-up his/her sleeves and execute at the tactical

level as required.


Flexibility and adaptability to work within tight deadlines and changing

priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Undergraduate degree in statistics, economics, finance, or other

quantitative field with a distinguished academic record required.
