Over 50,000 merchants in 21 countries are using and trusting in the client's business to accept payments in a secure and optimised way. The business is regulated as financial institution and also holds licenses by the national banks and local regulators.

About the Job

The Vice President of Sales will report to the Global CCO and lead all aspects of the company’s global sales operations including the development of the company’s long-term sales strategy, goals, sales forecasts, data analysis and development of sales team training programs. This candidate will be largely responsible for building positive global business relationships and working with staff to ensure that commitments and agreements are delivered within the appropriate timeframes. The VP of Sales will work closely with the key accounting, product, marketing and engineering departments, as well as the management team to create, define, implement, execute and report on the company’s sales strategy, up-selling, cross-selling, while developing successful and loyal customers. This includes sourcing tier one merchant prospects, defining product requirements, building scalable sales processes, drive high product adoption, minimize churn and ensure regular communication with all potential and newly acquired customers.

This is a VP level position that will have the ability to influence matters of significance in the organization and control departmental planning, staffing, budgeting, schedules, as well as recommend and implement changes to meet corporate requirements.  The hired candidate will develop strategic plans and objectives and will work on complex issues where analysis requires in-depth knowledge of the company as well as participate in corporate development methods, techniques and evaluate criteria for projects, programs and people.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong sales strategy to grow the client's business acceptance at leading global online merchants (digital, services, marketplaces, fashion, travel, and more)
  • Identify partners, customers, additional verticals and market opportunities across various segments and geographies
  • Close business deals and generate revenue for the company
  • Develop quotes, proposals, sales strategies, business cases and customer relationships
  • Work very closely with the VP of Key Accounts as well as Operations in our regions to ensure an excellent customer experience over the total lifetime of clients of all sizes and segments
  • Ability to effectively communicate with product, engineering and technology departments, while coordinating and managing timelines and deliverables
  • Identifying new sales leads and sales priorities
  • Negotiate deal points and draft term sheets
  • Pitch products and/or services
  • Research needs of other companies and identify ways the company can solve these needs and identify company decision makers
  • Contact current and potential clients to establish and solidify rapport and set up meetings
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Prepare sales materials
  • Develop sales goals for the team and ensure they are met
  • Hire, develop, manage and train personnel and help team members develop their skills

About You


  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, marketing or a related field required
  • Minimum 15 years increasingly responsible experience in solution sales required preferably in a multi-location global company
  • 5+ years of C-level relationship and sales experience
  • Minimum 5 years lead or supervisory experience required
  • Strong negotiating & deal modelling skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Passionate about the internet and the e-commerce sector; hi-tech industry or Payments industry
  • Payments are a great added value, but not a must
  • Ability to understand customer’s long term needs and business issues for the client , merchants and consumers
  • Ability to manage stressful situations whilst juggling multiple challenges

Working Conditions
