About the Client
Our client is one of the major banks in The Netherlands undertaking a complex real-time (Instant) Payments project here in Amsterdam with a commercial go live date scheduled for May 2019. There is a need for a Test Manager to start mid-summer (around July) and work on this project right through until the go-live in 2019.
About the Job
It’s an extremely exciting time in the world of payments and this multi-bank project could be game changing. In brief, the Dutch banking sector is currently developing a new infrastructure for real-time payments (Instant Payments) which if successful will mean that the payment amount will be immediately credited on the account of the beneficiary within seconds. It is also designed to be available continuously, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including public holidays.
The whole program began in 2015 and now with design of the infrastructure complete the building phase has begun and testing will follow. A pilot is planned to take place in early 2019 ahead of the full commercial go-live and all of the larger Dutch banks have committed to offer Instant Payments via their online/mobile channels.
Our client needs an experienced Test Manager for this program. You will need to have knowledge of Instant Payments and a strong background in IT and Testing. Key, is having demonstrable experience of managing large, complex projects with multiple teams and you must have excellent communications skills. Part of your position will involved representing the bank in front of other banks and external parties throughout he project.
The ability to oversee the whole project is very important and to be able to really understand the complexity of the product (experience working with SEPA would be advantageous).
Dutch language skills are not essential as meetings with the teams and developers will be in English. Fluent English is essential and Dutch would be an advantage to have.

- IT & Testing Background
- Experience on a SEPA program would be an advantage
- Must be client / customer facing with excellent communication skills and able to represent the organisation
- Must have experience of managing multiple teams and ideally involving 3rd parties and/or external customers/clients
- Ability to influence key stakeholders in the organisation
- Ability to oversee a very complex project and foresee where problems may arise
