  • Directs the activities of project management functions, including design, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of various aspects of project management. Oversees team administering projects of significant magnitude in terms of activities associated with coordination, facilitation, complexity, cost, time-constraints, internal and external staffing and hardware/software. Responsible for formulating the scope and objectives of the project management function. Oversees staff responsible for development of project plans and execution of project deliverables, to include product implementation(s). Responsible for devising and/or modifying and ensuring implementation of associated operating procedures with technology and business line leaders. Ensures leadership and other constituents are informed of project progress, findings, and deployment plans
  • Define governance and oversight to control the achievement of the project management function’s vision and to establish accountability and ownership for tracking and delivering intended benefits
  • Directs the activities of and assigns projects to program and project managers, as appropriate, with the goal of aligning all project plans and strategies to the larger program vision to achieve macro-level benefits and results. Coordinates deliverables across projects, managing dependencies and developing functional risk mitigation strategies
  • Supports and advises constituents regarding analytical work, modeling, and decision-making. Facilitates and/or coordinates communication and interactions with constituents at all levels of management
  • Oversees and leads multiple System projects and initiatives to advance the development of domestic and/or international retail payments services. Includes coordinating with internal and external resources for the planning, development, and implementation of new services or enhancements to existing services and RPO systems
  • Ensures business/product strategies are translated into specific, executable projects. Formulates project scopes and objectives, assigning projects to project managers or coordinators as appropriate and monitors their progress. Responsible for development of business requirements and overall project plans. Communicates project progress, findings, output, and deployment plans to leadership and all constituents
  • Leads and directs program managers, project managers and project teams in execution of project deliverables. Confers with and advises team participants on policies and procedures, priorities and methods. Consults with personnel in other business areas to coordinate activities. Responsible for administrative functions in managing the team and project milestone deliverables
  • Acts as an escalation point for conflicts, risks, issues and action items as brought forth by direct reports or project team. Responds to issues or problems that arise in day-to-day project operations and/or during development efforts. Meets with appropriate staff to define and investigate problems or issues and propose solutions with time and cost estimates. Verifies results of all changes and/or enhancements
  • Ensures new products and upgrades comply and conform to the latest industry rules and regulations, policy and procedures. Remains current on emerging payments issues and other research, seminars, and workshops. Supports efforts to educate the industry and/or Reserve Banks regarding various retail payments topics and initiatives
  • Chairs and/or directs function participation and provides leadership in System work groups to foster communication, influence decisions and collaborate on best practices. Includes coordinating with internal and external resources for the planning, development and implementation of new services or enhancements to existing services
  • Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of processes, procedures and tools supporting project and portfolio management

About You

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 years equivalent experience; Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Eight or more years of experience preferred
