About the Client
Payments and Fintech is becoming a buzz in France and in particular in Paris. Where we are seeing many large and very well known banks / financial institutions creating or investing in payments platforms. Which makes sense, given how much time we spend online … it is an opportunity not to miss!
Here we are recruiting for a very successful Payments Service Provider (PSP) which continues to grow. The main markets they operate in are eCommerce, Retail, Travel and Gaming. You will see them supporting merchants of all sizes ranging from large retailers to smaller Online Travel Agents but the important part is that they have a fantastic omnichannel offering which allows them to service merchants globally. Therefore there is a lot of interest for merchants to work with them.
About the role
In an industry where regulation is ever changing, to keep up with the high competitiveness and fast growing nature of the industry, Legal professionals are in high demand.
There is continuously a large influx of new business and this therefore needs thorough drafting of contracts and where negotiation plays a key role in making sure the customer and the service provider are in agreement. Aside from this, banking regulation needs to be adhered to. This is often changing, like with GDPR, and contract management is a key part of this role.
Not to mention in order to win new merchants, the tendering can be a long process depending on the merchant. Therefore a thorough strategic approach to tendering is necessary. Meaning Legal will work closely with sales and other departments in the organisation.
And of course, there can be occassions where litigation as well as pre-litigation needs to be conducted.
Things to keep in mind
